Earth Simulations

These simulations are used to visualize how different situation change what we observe on and around Earth.  Some of these simulations are used to illustrate the cause of Earth’s seasons.

Orbits

Launch an astronaut from a gigantic canon and watch how the orbit changes with initial velocity.  Best with sound on (at least for the first try).

Length of Day

Simulation to calculate the length of daylight for the summer solstice, winter solstice and equinoxes based on the latitude of the observer.

Solar Panel

Simulation to measure the flux received by a one meter square solar panel on Earth for a given altitude of the Sun.
